Ronald Eugene “Ronnie” Gephart,

Ronald Eugene “Ronnie” Gephart, age 70, of Van Buren, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at 9:25 am at Aperion Care of Peru, in Peru, Indiana.

Ronnie was born on March 28, 1953, in Marion to Homer Dale & Anna Margaret (Losure) Gephart. He proudly served his country from 1981 to 1983 in the US Navy on the USS Santa Barbara (AE-28). He formerly worked for Doyle Brothers in Van Buren, helping to package eggs to ship off to local grocery stores. Ronnie spent a short time living in Seymour, Indiana, working for an egg packaging company called Rose Acres, then returning to Van Buren. When he got out of the egg packaging business he worked at Huntington Lab and most recently for the JW Marriott in Indianapolis. While at the JW Marriott, Ronnie received many awards as a highly valued employee. He worked mainly at their restaurant, High Velocity. In 2016 Ronnie had a massive stroke, where his life was unexpectedly changed. Over the past several years he has lived in care facilities in Hartford City and Kokomo.

Loving survivors include his daughter, Cherokee (Jeremy) McCoin, of Montpelier, IN, granddaughter, Nicole McCoin, of Montpelier, brothers, Larry (Betty) Gephart, Warren, IN, Dennis (Dorothy) Gephart, Warren, IN, sister-in law, Norma Gephart, Muncie, IN, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Marvin Gephart, sister-in-law, Linda Gephart and brother, Jerry Gephart.

Services to celebrate Ronnie’s life will be held at Marion National Cemetery, 1700 E. 38th St., Marion, IN 46953 at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 11, 2024, with Rev. Steve Rogers officiating. Ronnie will be laid to rest following the service. Military honors performed by the Millard Brown American Legion Post #156 and United States Navy.
