Mary A. Reimer

Mary A. Reimer, 97, of South Whitley formerly of Bippus, died peacefully in the company of family at 7:19 p.m. Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at Parkview Huntington Hospital.

Born on June 17, 1926, in Whitley County, Indiana, she was a daughter of the late Verlin and Goldie (Lippencot) Grace. Growing up in southern Whitley County, she completed her education at the Laud School.

On January 3, 1953, she married Franklin E. Reimer. They made their home in Bippus raising two children. Franklin died on March 25, 2006.

For a few years, Mary worked at Schack Rubber in Huntington. She attended the Calvary United Methodist Church in Bippus.

She enjoyed gardening growing both flowers and vegetables. She enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, especially euchre.  When the great-grandkids came along, they became her pride and focus. In her senior years, she liked to assemble jigsaw puzzles – the more complex the better.

Fawcett of South Whitley; grandchildren, Brian (Amber) Fawcett of Larwill, and Eric (Kelly) Fawcett of Huntington; seven great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Patricia Hartman of Columbia City, Judy Thompson of South Whitley, Shirley Reimer of Churubusco and Eileen Reimer of Columbia City.
