Richard C. "Dick" Fravel

Richard C. "Dick" Fravel, 84, of rural Geneva, IN, passed away at 4:16 PM on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne, IN.  He was born on Monday, October 30, 1939, in Adams County, IN.  He married Sandra (Hudson) Fravel on Sunday, September 14, 1975 in Decatur, IN.  Richard was a 1957 graduate of Geneva High School. He worked as a toolmaker for CTS and also was a self-employed carpenter and builder. Richard, an expert craftsman, shared his talents in the building and carpentry trades. For many years his skills were employed by Habegger Builders. He was a member of the Geneva Vol. Fire Dept. and enjoyed building and working on cars. Richard was an avid Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr. fan and IU basketball fan.

He will be sadly missed by his Wife - Sandra (Hudson) Fravel, Geneva, IN, Son - Richard (Tracy) Fravel, Monroe, IN, Daughter - Rebecca Fravel, Ossian, IN, Daughter - Lisa (Mike) Roderick, Rosedale, IN, Son - Mark (Joan) Hudson, Sellersburg, IN, Son - Mitch Hudson, Portland, IN, Daughter - Melissa (Doug) Griffis, Avilla, IN, 17 Grandchildren, and 9 Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his Father - William Fravel, Mother - Ruth (Christman) Fravel, Daughter - Annette Fravel, Siblings- Agnes Stewart, Dorothy Madden, Charles Fravel, Bob Fravel, Garnet Bulger, Madeline Henley, and Son in Law - Shawn Yoquelet.

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home located at 100 N Washington Street Geneva on Thursday, January 11, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

A service to celebrate his life will follow at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 11, 2024 with Pastor Paul Strouse officiating.  Interment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery in Geneva.
