Diane “Susie” Swope

Diane “Susie” Swope, 77, of Andrews, passed away at 1:41 pm Thursday, January 11, 2024, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN.
 

Susie was born on January 7, 1947, in Wabash, IN, the daughter of Virgil Schultz and Ruby (Ross) Schultz. She graduated from Northfield High School with the class of 1965. Susie married Richard Swope, and he preceded her in death on April 17, 2012. She was mainly a homemaker however she did work for Dana Corporation of Andrews and retired after 6 years of service. Susie was a faithful member of the Bethel United Methodist of Lagro, IN. She was a volunteer at Love INC for many years. Susie was a wonderful cook and enjoyed crossword puzzles. She was a bargain shopper and loved yard sales. Susie was very loving and passionate about her family. Her grandchildren meant the world to her.
 

Survivors include her Two Sons, Lewie Mayo, Jr. of Andrews, IN, Tommy Mayo of Huntington, IN; Daughter, Tanya (Tommy) Carroll of Wabash, IN; Step-Son, Rick Swope of Andrews, IN; Sister, Donna (Dale) Howell of McDowell, KY; Two Brothers, Virgil Schultz, Jr., Donald Rife, Sr. of Bradenton, FL; Nephew, Charles "Tink" Bosell of Andrews, IN; Thirteen Grandchildren, Johnathon, Sara, Dillon, Annie, Sammy, Stacey, Tyler, Miranda, Chase, Cory, Breadon, Jayden, Journey; and Eight Great Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her Father, Virgil Schultz, Sr., Mother, Ruby Schultz, Husband, Richard Swope, Brother, Richard Schultz and Sisters, Nancy Bitzel, Sandra Newsome, Debra Grimm.

Visitation will be from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at Bailey-Love Mortuary. Burial will be in Saint Peter's Cemetery in Urbana, IN.
