Scott Daniel Bishop

Scott Daniel Bishop, 43, of rural Dunkirk, IN, passed away at 9:45 PM on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at his home in Dunkirk.  He was born on Sunday, April 27, 1980, in Wuerzburg, Germany to Theodore Bishop and Deana Baker.  He married KaTura Corwin on Saturday, June 21, 2003, in Portland, IN. Scott was a 1998 graduate of Huntington North High School. He was a truck driver for Corwin Trucking and served his country in the US Army National Guard, where he completed 2 separate tours overseas. He served in Afghanistan from 2004-2005 and in Iraq from 2006-2007. During his time in the service, he was awarded the bronze star and purple heart. Scott enjoyed riding his Harley, woodworking, fishing, cooking on the grill, farming, and spending time outdoors. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. He was a member of the Pennville IOOF # 145, American Legion, DAV, and Military of the Purple Heart. 

He will be sadly missed by his Wife - KaTura (Corwin) Bishop, Dunkirk, IN, Son - Corbin Bishop, Dunkirk, IN, Daughter - Makayla Bishop, Dunkirk, IN, Son - Levi Bishop, Dunkirk, IN, Father - Theodore (Cindy) Bishop, King, NC, Mother - Deana Baker (Thomas) St. John, Van Buren, IN, Maternal Grandparents - Dean & Marilyn Baker, Van Buren, IN, Brother - Tim (Jennifer) Bishop, Noblesville, IN, Brother - Nathaniel (Joylynn) Bishop, N.C., and  Sister - Tessa (Ray) Johnson, Huntington, IN.

He was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandparents – Darryl Bishop, Sue Bishop, and Sondra Bishop.

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home, located at 109 W. Windsor St., Montpelier, on Saturday, January 27, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

A service to celebrate Scott’s life will follow at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home at 4:00 PM on Saturday, January 27, 2024, with Mitch Corwin officiating.
