Patty J. Lacoax, 81, of Fort Wayne, IN, died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010, at 10:15 p.m. at the Markle Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Lacoax was a 1947 graduate of North Clay Community High School in Clay County, IL. She worked in the accounting department at the Indiana Bank in Fort Wayne for 15 years. She was a member of the Waynedale United Methodist Church.
She was born May 26, 1929, in Monticello, IL, to Ezra Byron and Loreen Tarr Lewis. She married Rev. H. Leon Lacoax on Dec. 17, 1950, in Louisville, IL. He preceded her in death in August 1991.
Surviving are a daughter, Marquita (David) Merchant, of Markle; a brother, Wayne Lewis, of Indianapolis; a sister, Mary Peters, of Arthur, IL; four grandchildren, Benjamin (Amber) Merchant, Sarah (Paul) Ziegler, Randy (Konny) Merchant and Chad Hamilton, all of Fort Wayne; and three great-grandchildren.
Calling is Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home, Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee St., Markle. A funeral service will be held on Friday, Sept. 3, 2010, at 1 p.m., with one hour of calling prior to the service, at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, with Rev. Mike Harris officiating.
Interment will be at the Highland Park Cemetery in Fort Wayne.
