Richard Marvin "Sam" Langdon, 76, died Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010, at 7:30 p.m. at Heritage Pointe, Warren, IN.

Mr. Langdon, a 1952 graduate of Hartford City High School, retired after 30 years as a truck driver for Renner Express. He also drove a bus for Blackford County Schools for 10 years.

He was born July 7, 1934, in Eaton to Mark and Murl Rarick Langdon. He married Ruth Ann Overmyer on April 3, 1955. His wife survives.

Additional survivors include three daughters, Lisa Ann (Lawrence) Hall, of Fishers; Nancy L. (Mark) Vanderbur, of DeWitt, MI; and Joni L. (Chris) Pearson, of Upland; a son, Andrew Mark "Andy" Langdon, of Hartford City; two brothers, Donald Langdon, of Decatur, and David (Margaret) Langdon, of Hamilton, OH; and four grandchildren, Laura N. Vanderbur, Drew Vanderbur, Abby Pearson and Gavin Pearson.

A service was held Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010, at Keplinger Funeral Home, Hartford City. Burial was at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Muncie.
