Walter L. Burrous

Walter Lee Burrous, 82, of Wabash, IN, and having family members in Lagro, IN, died Friday, April 3, 2009, at 8:11 a.m. at the V.A. Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System, Los Angeles, CA.

Mr. Burrous was a member of Bachelor Creek Church of Christ, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 286 and American Legion Post 15, all of Wabash, and Elks Lodge 2012 in Rochester. He was a life member of the D.A.V. He served in the United States Army during World War II.

He was born May 26, 1926, in Mexico, IN, to Delbert Owen and Grace Mae Seward Burrous. He married Carolyn Lucille Siders on Nov. 10, 1972, at the Wabash Christian Church, Wabash. His wife survives.

Additional survivors include six sons, Michael (Kim) Burrous, of Biloxi, MS; Ronnie (Martha) Burrous, of Erlanger, KY; Todd (Eileen) Burrous, of New Albany; Dennis (Diana) Siders, of Wabash; Kevin Siders, of Marion; and Scott (Tammy) Siders, of Lagro; a daughter, Debbie (Kiarash) Abtin, of Simi Valley, CA; 16 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A service was held Friday, April 10, 2009, at Bachelor Creek Church of Christ, Wabash. Solomon David officiated. Burial will be at Memorial Lawns Cemetery.

Preferred memorials are gifts to the World War II Memorial, Washington, DC.
