Leona E. 'Lee" Campbell

Leona E. "Lee" Campbell, 90, of Gas City, and having family members in Huntington, died Dec. 18, 2008, at 12:50 a.m. at Marion General Hospital.

Mrs. Campbell had owned and operated a beauty shop in Jonesboro and later worked at RCA for 32 years, retiring in 1981. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Gas City, the Rosary Society and the RCA Sympathy Club. She was a graduate of Urbana High School.

She was born Dec. 2, 1918, in Urbana to Clay and Mary Coughlin Driscoll. She married Gerald Campbell, who preceded her in death on April 20, 1981.

Survivors include a son, Joe (DixAnn) Campbell, of Summitville; three daughters, Sandy (Ken) Grubb, of Indianapolis; Sue (Gary) Bastian, of Elwood; and Debbie (Brad) Bishop, of Gas City; two brothers, Lloyd (Norma) Driscoll, of Huntington, and Bob (Gene) Driscoll, of Urbana; a sister, Rita Driscoll, of Indianapolis; 16 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Dec. 22, 2008, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Gas City, with Rev. Richard Weisenberger officiating. Burial was at Riverside Cemetery, Gas City.

Preferred memorials are gifts to the Holy Family Catholic Church, 325 E. North "A" St., Gas City, IN 46933, or to Cancer Services of Grant County Inc., Tower Suites, 305 S. Norton Ave., Marion, IN 46952.
