Mary R. White

Mary Rose White, 75, of Fort Wayne, and having family members in Huntington County, died Saturday, May 2, 2009, at 10:24 p.m. at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.

Mrs. White had been employed as a seamstress at Bennett Manufacturing, New Haven. She was a member of St. Henry's Catholic Church, Fort Wayne, and a former member of St. Therese Catholic Church, Fort Wayne.

She was born Jan. 3, 1934, in Fort Wayne to Homer R. and Marzetta M. Kalt Cramer-Caywood.

Survivors include three daughters, Laura White, of Roanoke, and Debra (James) Elwood and Sherilyn (Dwayne) Nichols, both of Fort Wayne; a son, David (Michelle) White, of Fort Wayne; eight sisters, Helen Bechtel and Annie (Bob) Gibson, both of Fort Wayne; Donna (Fred) Schroeder, of Columbia City; Sister Mary Timothy Caywood, of Mishawaka; Judy Cramer, Pam (Vern) Allmandinger and Patty (David) Schreiber, all of Roanoke; and Dlorah (Alan) Treesh, of Charleston, SC; three brothers, Woodie (Sandy) Caywood and Mike (Tonia) Cramer, both of Fort Wayne, and Joe (Shirley) Cramer, of Defiance, OH; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial was held Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at St. Henry's Catholic Church, Fort Wayne, with Rev. Dan Durkin officiating. Burial followed at Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne.

Casket bearers were Brent Niichols, Josh Elwood, Jon Elwood, Ryan White, Jim Elwood and Tim Allmandinger.

Preferred memorials are gifts to St. Henry's Catholic Church or Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, both in care of Roanoke Memorial Chapel of Deal-Rice Funeral Homes, 240 Crestwood Drive, Roanoke, IN 46783.
