Girl Scout Daises and Brownies from Huntington Catholic School Troop 20299 celebrated their successful cookie sales with an overnight adventure at the property of Jean Williams in Whitley County on Aug. 3 and Aug. 4.
The girls made tie-dye T-shirts and designed their own puzzles. They also prepared for a future camping trip by practicing camping skills such as cooking on a campfire, fire safety, putting up a tent, practicing a 911 call and learning how to treat minor injuries.
The girls' first aid work culminated in a walk to the Jefferson Township Volunteer Fire Department to tour the facility and meet with the firemen.
Junior Girl Scout Jessica Hartmus from Troop 20042 helped plan the event and taught the girls new songs and games.
Girl Scout troops in Huntington and Wabash counties are currently registering girls for the new school year. If you need help finding a troop, you can contact Belinda Cotton at 355-0372.
