A mobile monitor flashes the speed of a passing vehicle headed down Cline Street on Thursday, Aug. 30. Pat Scher, assistant chief of the Huntington Police Department, says the speed monitor is being placed around the city - sometimes on streets where speeding complaints have been received, and sometimes at random. "It's just to make people aware of their speed," Scher says. "If you're going 35 in a 30, slow down." Anyone who wants the speed monitor placed in their neighborhood can make that request by calling the police station, 356-7110, he says. The sign will keep popping up around Huntington as long as the weather is good.
