The Huntington North High School Band Parent Organization has received 501(c)(3) status.

The status, granted by the IRS, recognizes the group as a nonprofit organizations.

With the new status, any contributions to the Band Parents Organization are tax-deductible for the donors.

The HNHS Band will perform at all Viking home football games, including Sept. 14 and 21 and Oct. 12.

The competition season started Sept. 8 with a contest in Bluffton. Other contests are Sept. 15 in New Haven, Sept. 22 at East Noble, and Sept. 29 and Oct. 6 at Homestead.
This year's theme for the competition show is "Madgic."
