Monday, September 10, 2012 7:48 AM

The Huntington County 4-H program is in need of adult volunteers to assist with the leadership and guidance of community based 4-H clubs for the upcoming 4-H club year.

Community based 4-H clubs involve youth from grades three through 12.  Volunteer orientation and training is provided for all new volunteers.

One specific area where volunteers are needed with is the 4-H shooting sports project.

Adults interested in working with younger youth in grades kindergarten through second grade may become involved with the Mini 4-H program.

Interested adults must complete a 4-H volunteer application form and proceed through the volunteer screening process to ensure appropriate placement as an adult volunteer within the county 4-H program.

For more information about serving as a volunteer in the Huntington County 4-H Program, contact Julia Miller, 4-H Youth Extension educator, at the Purdue Extension - Huntington County office, located at 354 N. Jefferson St., Suite 202, Courthouse Annex, Huntington; call 358-4826 or e-mail jwick ert@purdue.edu [1].
