Nyctophobia, the fear of the dark, is the theme for Thursdays this month at the Haunted Hotel-13th Floor in Huntington.
On Thursdays only, lights will be shut off and groups of two to three people will proceed through the hotel with only a small flashlight to light the way.
"It's a first for the area," says Manager Brett Molitor.
The event will run from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. every Thursday through Oct. 31.
The Haunted Hotel-13th Floor, which opened for the season on Friday, Sept. 28, will also be open every Friday and Saturday from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. through Oct. 31.
Fridays and Saturdays will feature the regular blacklight 3D show in addition to a new route through the hotel and new rooms.
A VIP pass will be available for purchase, offering access to the front of the line as well as a water bottle.
A portion of this year's proceeds will go to the Huntington Jaycees and the Huntington County Sheriff's Reserve Fund.
