The Youth for Christ organization will hold a meeting for parents on Thursday, Oct. 4, to discuss the recent arrest of a former Campus Life director on federal child pornography charges.
The meeting will be held from 7 to 8:15 p.m. at Heritage Hall, Hier's Park.
Larry Lance, executive director of Fort Wayne Area Youth for Christ, says in a letter to parents that YFC representatives want to "respond to your concerns, connect you with helpful information and resources, and to work together with you to ensure students' safety."
Nathan B. Hasty, 34, of Huntington, worked with students at Crestview and Riverview middle schools in the YFC Campus Life program. Lance says Hasty was suspended Sept. 21, when YFC officials learned of an FBI investigation into Hasty's alleged activities, and was fired on Sept. 24.
Hasty is accused of setting up fake Facebook accounts to solicit lewd photos and videos from boys. He reportedly used the girls' names "Sydney Jones" and "Rachel Johnson" on the fake accounts. He is also accused of setting up a third fake account, using the name Matt Kramer, to have sexual conversations with both boys and girls. Hasty told authorities that he had worked for Youth for Christ for nine years.
