Huntington North High School will present its fall play, "The Diviners," Thursday and Saturday, Oct. 11 and 13, in the HNHS auditorium.
Performances are at 7:30 p.m., with tickets available at the door. Doors open at 7 p.m.
Jowaun Scher takes on the role of Buddy, a young boy who is deathly afraid of water - the result of a drowning accident that took his mother's life - but has the gift of being able to "divine," or find, water under the ground.
His family includes his sister, played by Kylie Tester, and his father, played by Nick Baca. He becomes friends with a former preacher, played by Jonathon Goulding.
Other cast members include Madison Gick, Matt Wilson, Ian Taylor, Andrea Broxon, Autumn Schulte, Morgan Nightingale and Drew Hollman.
"This is a drama, which
is something we haven't done here for a while," says Matthew Stephenson, who is directing the play.
Stephenson is a math teacher at HNHS who has been involved in the theater, including the Pulse Opera House in Warren, for many years.
