Marcella Jean Parker, 86, of Warren, IN, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, at 2:20 p.m. at the home of her son.
Mrs. Parker assisted her husband in his ministry for 58 years. She retired from Huntington North High School, where she worked as a library clerk for 14 years. She was a member of Back Creek Wesleyan Church, Fairmount.
She was born Sept. 19, 1926, in Cadiz to Luther and Rosetta Wisehart Cole. She married Howard E. Parker on June 19, 1953. Her husband preceded her in death on May 4, 2011.
Survivors include a daughter, Laureen Lynn (Tim) Winters, of Warren; three sons, Philip E. (Debra) Parker, of Marion; Benjamin A. (Helen) Parker, of Gas City; and David (Tammy) Parker, of Sweetser; a sister, Patricia Dickerson; three brothers, Gerald (Pam) Cole, Jack (June) Cole and Larry (Sheila) Cole; 10 grandchildren, P.D., Jennifer, Faith, Charity, Joshua, Bruce, Holly, Joel, Zachariah and Mackenzie; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Calling is Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Home, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion. A service will be held on Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at 9 a.m. at Sweetser Wesleyan Church, 200 W. Delphi Pike, Sweetser. Her sons, Rev. Benjamin Parker and Rev. David Parker, will officiate. Burial will be at Marion National Cemetery, Marion.
