The Huntington High School Class of 1957 held its 55-year reunion on Oct. 20. Thirty of the 135 graduates attended the events.
The reunion opened with a cocktail party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Chalfant.
A golf outing was held at Norwood Golf Club, with the team of Walt Hunnicutt, Scott Hosler, Dick Chalfant and Clark Dippell winning the contest. Stan Bippus had the longest drive and Clark Dippell was closest to the pin. Steve Bitner served as sergeant at arms to make sure all scores and events were conducted properly.
Following the golf outing, a luncheon was held at Nick's Kitchen.
The main reunion event was a dinner at the Moose Lodge in Huntington. Harold Campbell gave the invocation. Mark Cozad paid tribute to 21 deceased classmates and Floyd Maxton played "Amazing Grace" on the bagpipes.
Chalfant, the reunion host, recognized Ruth Fahrnow Stoeckley for her leadership in coordinating many of the events and Scott Hosler for his organization efforts with the golf outing.
The reunion committee will meet at Chalfant's home on Nov. 15 to discuss any future reunions. Any member of the class is invited to attend the meeting.
