Trinity United Meth-odist Church, located at 350 Guilford St., Huntington, is providing a free Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This is the 27th year Trinity has sponsored this community dinner, which is open to the public free of charge.
Meals can be delivered to shut-ins and their families and to those who normally receive Meals on Wheels. To request delivery within Huntington County, call the church office, 356-0987, Monday through Thursday between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. no later than Nov. 20.
Anyone who is unable to call during those hours is asked to contact Jim Wilson at 358-6684.
The church office will be closed on Nov. 21 and Nov. 22.
Carry-outs will be available from noon to 1 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day for those who wish to take meals home.
Community volunteers are welcome to help at the church kitchen on Monday, Nov. 19; Tuesday, Nov. 20; and Wednesday, Nov. 21, from 9 a.m. to noon.
Volunteers are also welcome on Thanksgiving Day to help serve and deliver meals from 10 a.m. to noon or to help with cleanup from noon to 2 p.m.
Donations of pies and Jell-O salads are also being sought.
