Jean Gernand (left), owner of the Purviance House on South Jefferson Street in Huntington, and Glenda Giggy, caterer, put the finishing touches on a Christmas garland gracing the stairway at the Purviance House. The house, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is believed to be the oldest house south of the Little River in Huntington, regularly hosts club meetings and is open to the public for lunch each Tuesday.
