The Huntington North High School girls' varsity basketball team outscored visiting North Side in every quarter of its contest on Wednesday, Jan. 2, to win its third straight game big, 61-26.
Hannah Stoffel led the Lady Vikings, 3-9, with game-highs of 11 points and five steals as well as six rebounds. Allyson Trout added 10 points, Paige Coolman supplied eight and grabbed as many rebounds and Kelsey Hollowell tossed in seven.
For the game, Huntington North made 23 of 50 shots for 46 perecent and sank 12 of 13 free throws for a mark of 92.3. North Side turned in a reverse performance, hitting only 7 of 39 shots for 17.9 percent.
Armonnie Jackson-Freeman, Sierra Miranda and Shaniqua Rucker each managed five points to lead the Lady Redskins, 2-10.
The Lady Vikings also enjoyed advantages of 13 to three in assists and 16 to six in steals. Lindsey Foster was the Lady Vikes' assist leader with four.
Paige Coolman had eight rebounds to lead HNHS to a 34-28 boards advantage.
The Huntington North junior varsity turned in a dominant performance as well, winning 48-9.
Madi Canady led the team with 11 points and went a perfect 7 for 7 from the charity stripe, where the Lady Vikings hit 18 of 20 shots as a team for a mark of 90 percent. Corinne Tester and Ellie Lawson each added nine points.
