Juanita Hoffer, 89, of Huntington, IN, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at Norwood Health and Rehabilitation, Huntington, where she had resided the last three years.
Mrs. Hoffer, a long-time resident of Nappanee, graduated from Etna Green High School in 1941 and attended Indiana University for one year. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Tabor Church of God, Etna Green, where she had been involved in the WCSC and served as choir director.
She was born March 15, 1923, in Etna Green to Owen and Cleo Utter Stackhouse. She married Buell A. Hoffer on Jan. 26, 1946, in Etna Green. Her husband preceded her in death on March 6, 2009.
Survivors include a daughter, Susan (Tim) Herrli, of Elkhart; two sons, Timothy (Loretta) Hoffer, of Indianapolis, and Mark (Beth) Hoffer, of Huntington; six grandchildren, Brandon (Melea) Hoffer, of Bourbon; Bryant (Amy) Hoffer, of Indianapolis; Tanner Herrli, of Elkhart; Trevor Herrli, of Elkhart; Shelly (Robert) Goetz, of Huntington; and Lauren (Brian) Herrli-Warner, of Indianapolis; two stepgrandsons, Matt Sundheimer, of Fort Wayne, and Aaron Sundheimer, of Indianapolis; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A service was held on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at Mt. Tabor Church of God, Etna Green, with Rev. Jeremy Grueser officiating. Burial was at Stony Point Cemetery.
Thompson Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, was in charge of arrangements.
