Autumn Anderson won the Roanoke Elementary School spelling bee on Jan. 9 by correctly spelling the word "societal."
She is the daughter of Steve and Pamela Anderson of Roanoke.
Kean McCracken was the runner-up in the school bee.
His parents are Kevin and Bridget McCracken of Huntington.
