Leota Marie "Lee" Springer, 83, of Ossian, IN, and having family members in rural Roanoke, IN, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at Ossian Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Springer was employed as a secretary at the Indiana Air National Guard for 24 years, retiring in 1990. She graduated from Edgerton (OH) High School in 1948 and from International Business College in 1949. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and the church's altar guild.
She was born Jan. 28, 1930, in Edgerton, OH, to Waldo "Mike" and Marguerite Neidhardt Prediger. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Robert "Bob" Springer, of Ossian.
Additional survivors include a daughter, Monica (Richard) Donaghy, of Ossian; a sister, Linda (Jim) Dalton, of Grand Rapids, MI; three grandchildren, Rob (Toni) Donaghy and Kari (Lee) Bullerman, both of rural Roanoke, and Shaun Donaghy, of Ossian; a stepgrandson, Rick (Christy) Donaghy, of Greenfield; three great-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
Calling is Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 W. Mill St., Ossian. A service will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at 10:30 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, at St. Mark Lutheran church, 16933 Thiele Rd., Fort Wayne. Burial will be at St. Mark Lutheran Church Cemetery.
