John Paff, of Huntington, has been named a vice president of The Nichols Company, a Fort Wayne marketing agency.
In his new role, Paff will focus on business development and strategic communication services.
The Nichols Company specializes in marketing for business, industry and not-for-profit organizations.
The agency's client base includes manufacturers, retailers, health care and aging-services agencies and social service organizations.

Paff is an accredited public-relations professional with more than 25 years of experience serving higher education and not-for-profit organizations.
He most recently served as vice president for university relations at Huntington University, where he led the team responsible for alumni and parent programs, media relations, graphic design, publications, website strategy and social media. He will continue to teach public relations and social media at HU. He will also continue to serve as editor of the Christian College Daily e-newsletter.
Paff began his career in communications with a public-interest law firm specializing in the protection of constitutional liberties. He was the founding chair of the Commission for Public Relations Officers of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities. He also previously served on the boards of the United States Vice Presidential Learning Center and the Forks of the Wabash Historic Park.
Paff was a founder of the Huntington County Community Network, a grant-funded, not-for-profit organization that brought the first local Internet service to Huntington County.
