The Huntington North High School girls' varsity tennis team was shut down by visiting Marion, 0-5, on Monday, April 22.
The Lady Vikings were only able to push their foes to three sets in the match at second doubles as Mariah Zumbrun and Ashley Bard fell to Brittany Olson and Nithia Chowattukunnel, 7-6, 2-6, 5-7.
At second doubles, Ana Eckert and Emily Karst lost to Katie McCoy and Sara Highbaugh, 0-6, 2-6.
In singles play, Kylie Frederick at No. 1 fell to Sasha Glickfield, 0-6, 0-6; Kari Bard at No. 2 lost to Sabrina Porter, 2-6, 0-6; and Emily Eherenman lost at third singles to Maddie Lester, 1-6, 0-6.
In junior varsity play, three Lady Viking doubles teams earned wins. The team of Jessia Onate and Alisha Leffler beat DeShea Howard and Rachel Jumper, 8-4, the pair of Michaela Cook and Kristen Dyson downed Alesha Flores and Makayla Nelson, 6-2, and Addison Clark and Josi Stranger topped Yasmine McGee and Haley Davis, 6-4.
