Sandra Sue Harter, 72, of New Braunfels, TX, and a native of Huntington, IN, died Friday, April 19, 2013, at her home.
Mrs. Harter, a former resident of South Whitley, was employed by Chamberlin Products from 1963 to 1968 and by Gripco from 1970 to 1976. After moving to Broomfield, CO, she was employed by the Coors Ceramic Company in Golden, CO. She moved to New Braunfels in 2000 and worked at Hill Country Resort from 2006 to 2009.
She was a member of Grace Memorial Church, in New Braunfels, TX, and First Baptist Church, in South Whitley. She was also a member of the Classy Ladies Chapter of the Red Hat Society.
She was born Dec. 22, 1940, in Huntington to John Phillip and Elsie Marcell Householder Wuertley. She married Charles Harter on May 17, 2009, and he survives.
Survivors include eight children, Debra S. Jackson, of Columbia City; James R. Jackson Jr., of Puckett, MS; Lorie A. (Michael) Schroeder, of Northglenn, CO; Kimberly L. (Richard) Thompson, of Glendale, AZ; Scott W. (Kamala) Hollon, of Surprise, AZ; Xocil Ratliff and Michael Harter, both of New Braunfels, TX; and Beth (David) Schone, of San Antonio, TX; a daughter-in-law, Pamela K. Jackson, of South Whitley; a brother, Carl E. (Susan) Wuertley, of Evergreen, CO; two sisters, Helen M. (Ken) Baker, of Jefferson, CO, and LaVonna J. Harper, of Horton, CO; a sister-in-law, Delois Hollon, of Glendale, AZ; 17 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Calling is Monday, April 29, 2013, from noon to 2 p.m., with a service following at 2 p.m., at Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, 208 N. Maple St., South Whitley. Burial will be at South Whitley Cemetery.
