The Huntington North High School junior varsity softball team waited a long time to play its first game, but made the wait worthwhile with a 25-9 blowout of host Northrop.
The Lady Vikings pounded out 14 hits, led by winning pitcher Alexandra Kreider's 5 for 5 effort, which included two doubles, five runs batted in and three runs scored.
Aly Grabner added three hits, including a double and triple, four RBI and three runs scored.
Rylie Bowman and Corinne Tester each swatted triples.
Kreider pitched a complete game, allowing all nine runs on nine hits, with six strikeouts and seven walks.
