Karmen Koch was a three-time individual champion for the Crestview Middle School girls' sixth and seventh grade track and field team against visiting Marion on Thursday, April 25, helping the Lady Cougars to an 80-29 win.
Koch captured firsts in the 100 and 200-meter hurdles in :18.76 and :35.58, respectively, and in high jump with a bound of 4-2.
Koch also rounded out the 400-meter relay team of Katie Jamison, Kalee Platt and Kassidy Thompson to take first in 1:00.18.
Thompson got another gold in the 200-meter dash, clocking in at :32.65.
Jamison had a silver finish in long jump in 11-10.5 and bronze placements in the 100 and 200-meter hurdles in 20.40 and 44.71, respectively.
Platt placed third in the 100-meter dash in :14.57.
Crestview's other relay team, the 1,600-meter squad, consisting of Ashley Spencer, Emma Melcher, Brittany Smith and Sydney Kyle, also achieved first place, clocking in at 5:18.31.
Kyle also took top honors in the 400-meter dash, crossing the finish line in 1:14.77, followed by Melcher in 1:21.16 and Spencer in 1:21.78 for the Crestview sweep.
Peyton Butler's heave of 27-3.5 secured first place in shot put. Maddie Hiebel submitted a toss of 25-9.5 for second and Gabi Haneline's try of 25-1 was good for third for a second of four CMS sweeps.
Hiebel bested the field in discus with a throw of 54-8. Haneline was runner-up with a 47 and Lexi Black was third with a 42-1.
Chloe Scheiber rounded out Crestview's champions with a 6:45.92 in the 1,600-meter run. Alena Miller was third in the race with a 7:21.89.
Other Lady Cougar points came from Vali Thilmont's second in the 200 hurdles and third in long jump and Scheiber's third in the 800-meter run.
