The Huntington North High School girls' varsity tennis team ran its win string to four with victories over host New Castle and Anderson on Saturday, April 27.
The Lady Vikings, 4-3 after starting the season 0-3, topped the hosts 4-1, then got Anderson by a 3-2 count.
First singles player Kylie Fredrick and the first doubles team of Mariah Zumbrun and Ashley Bard led the way on the day, winning both of their matches.
Fredrick, a sophomore, ran past Allison Bennett of New Castle, 6-0, 6-1, in the opener, then repeated the trick against her Anderson foe.
The No. 1 doubles team topped New Castle duo Brittany Hethcox and Rebekah Haler, 6-1, 6-0, then defeated their Anderson foes, 6-3, 6-3.
Kari Bard at second singles added a 7-6, 6-4 win against Jayda Day of New Castle, and the second doubles team of Ana Eckert and Emily Karst completed the win with a 6-3, 6-0 triumph over Laura Hamilton and Sabre Hethcox.
Emily Eherenman at third singles got the third HNHS win against Anderson, a 6-0, 6-3 triumph.
New Castle's lone win came when Anna Smith beat Eherenman at third singles 6-1, 6-4.
Against Anderson, Kari Bard got beaten at second singles, 1-6, 1-6, and the second doubles team of Eckert and Karst lost two heartbreakers, 5-7, 5-7.
