The Huntington North High School girls' varsity tennis team swept both doubles matches against host Logansport on Friday, May 10, but dropped all three singles matches to lose 2-3.
The reliable duo of Mariah Zumbrun and Ashley Bard came away with a 4-6, 6-4, 6-0 win over Abby Geer and Karli Armstrong at first doubles for the Lady Vikings, 7-7.
Ana Eckert and Emily Karst got the team's other doubles win with a 6-3, 7-5 decision over Rachel Sims and Kayleigh Dance in the second match.
It was a different story in singles play, though, where the Lady Vikings didn't have any answers for the Lady Berries. Casey Richman got blanked by Whitney Jennings in the first match 0-6, 0-6, Kari Bard suffered a 4-6, 0-6 setback to Rachel Jennings in the second one and Emily Eherenman went down 1-6, 1-6 to Brooke Bullard in the third.
The Huntington North junior varsity, 9-4-1, came away with a 1-1 tie on an 8-2 singles win by Sarah Fryman over Christine Shepler.
