David A. Kitchen, 71, of Warsaw, and having family members in Huntington, died Sunday, May 12, 2013, at 10:10 p.m. at his home.
Mr. Kitchen was a master electrician and owner of Kitchen Electric and Maintenance Company, Fort Wayne.
He was born June 24, 1941, in Fort Wayne to Raymond and Violet Leatherman Kitchen. He married Melanie Salisbury on Dec. 31, 1985, in Fort Wayne, and she survives.
Additional survivors include six daughters, Dee (Ron) Hadley, of Goodwell, OK; Debrah Kitchen and Dawn Kitchen, both of Fort Wayne; Dana (Harold "Gator") Gates, of Warsaw; Deitra (Richard) Martin, of Huntington; and Jenessa (Brent) Scott, of Waynedale; two sons, David (Sheryl) Kitchen, of Warsaw, and Robert Kitchen, of Logansport; three sisters, Colleen Troxel, of Fort Wayne; Diane Wroblewski, of Huntington; and Cherie Jo (Michael) Rumple, of The Villages, FL; a brother, Rex (Carol) Kitchen, of Fort Wayne; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ron and Mary Salisbury, of Warsaw; and 10 grandchildren, Brandy, Amanda, Ron, David, Jennifer, heather, Jessica, Richie, Thea and Trevin; and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2013, at 2 p.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton. Chaplain Bob Jarboe will officiate. Burial will be at a later date.
