Terry L. Swoverland, 48, of Leesburg, IN, and having family members in Huntington, IN, died Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at 5:40 a.m. at his home.
Mr. Swoverland, a lifelong resident of Kosciusko County, was employed as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service for 29 years. He was a reserve officer for the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department for 13 years, earning the rank of lieutenant and firearms instructor. He was a member of Christ's Covenant Church, in Winona Lake.
He was born July 15, 1964, in Warsaw to John and Linda Hull Swoverland. His parents survive in Warsaw. He married Holly Monroe on April 30, 2005, in Indianapolis, and she survives.
Additional survivors include a son, David John (Brenda) Swoverland, of Huntington; two daughters, Amanda (Ryan) Woods and Brittany (Kyle) Wuthrich, both of Warsaw; a stepson, Adam Roberts, of Leesburg; a stepdaughter, Shelly Roberts, of Leesburg; a sister, Katrina (Ron) Brandenburg, of Warsaw; his grandmother, Mary Hull, of Winona Lake; and seven grandchildren, Dayna Kinley, David Smith, Hunter Swoverland, Hannah Swoverland, Aiden Woods, Rienna Woods and Logan Woods.
Calling is Saturday, June 8, 2013, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw. A service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, June 9, 2013, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Larry McCall and Rev. Rod Valentine officiating. Burial will be on Monday, June 10, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
