Cledis C. James, 69, of Warren, IN, died Sunday, June 9, 2013, at 6:49 p.m. at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Mr. James retired from Hayes Lemmerz International, in Huntington, where he had worked for 21 years. He had previously worked at Utrad Corporation, in Huntington, as a general foreman for 19 years and at Heartland Aluminum for five years.
He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from the United States Army National Guard, Huntington, as a sergeant after serving 25 years.
He was born June 29, 1943, in Pikeville, KY, to Quentin and Violet Runyion James. He married Mary Ann Krieg on Dec. 16, 1967, at the Warren United Church of Christ, and she survives.
Survivors include a son, Dave (Sara) James, of Brandenburg, KY; a daughter, Patti (Ryan) Breckenridge, of Huntington; a brother, Fred (Sherry) James, of Huntington; two sisters, Millie (Ballard) Gross and Shirley (Danny) Adams, both of Pikeville, KY; and three grandchildren, Taylor James, of Madisonville, KY; Caitlyn James, of Brandenburg, KY; and Ethan Breckenridge, of Huntington.
Calling is Thursday, June 13, 2013, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Glancy-H. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 203 N. Matilda St., Warren. A service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, June 14, 2013, at 11 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service. Rev. Scott E. Nedberg will officiate. Interment, with military honors, will be at Lancaster Cemetery.
