Manchester University has announced that Tara Boone, of Huntington, will assume head coaching duties for the Spartans' men's golf program.
"I'm really excited about this opportunity," she said. "It's a great group of men who are ready to work hard to improve individually and make the team better. I feel fortunate, too, that I was able to get to know them a little bit last year as both teams practiced at the same course."
Boone played at Indiana University and Indiana University-Purdue University of Indianapolis, where she placed in the top 30 of the Big 10 championships as a freshman and among the top 15 of the Summit League tournament as a junior.
She adds the new role to her duties as head coach of the women's program.
She led the Manchester women to a top five finish at the 2013 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships to highlight her first season at the helm.
