William Wayne Bryan, 87, of Fort Wayne, IN, and a former resident of Huntington, IN, died Saturday, June 29, 2013, at 6:30 p.m. at Lutheran Life Villages, Fort Wayne.
Mr. Bryan was a veteran of World War II, serving as a ship's cook in the United States Navy. He was employed as a tool and die maker at General Motors, in Marion, for 28 years, retiring in 1991. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church and a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2689, both in Huntington.
He was born Jan. 29, 1926, in Huntington to William and Mary Rogers Bryan. He married Jean A. Streit in Huntington, and she preceded him in death.
Survivors include a son, Larry Bryan, of Fort Wayne; two daughters, Mary Dunker and Angela Farthing, both of Fort Wayne; a brother, Ted Bryan, of Fort Wayne; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Calling is Wednesday, July 3, 2013, from 10 a.m. to noon, with a service following at noon, at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington. Rev. Dr. Richard Lofgren will officiate. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory, Huntington County, with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2689.
