Martha H. Vandelene, 91, a resident of Heritage Pointe in Warren, IN, and formerly of Hartford City, IN, died Monday, July 15, 2013, at 4:40 p.m. at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Vandelene worked at Montgomery Ward in Hartford City and Farm Bureau Co-Op in Blackford, Randolph and Jay counties for 14 years, retiring from the Jay County Co-Op in 1982. She was a former member of the Northwest Skeigh & Carriage Association and the Blackford County Historical Society. She had been a resident of Heritage Pointe in Warren, since 2005.
She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Hartford City.
She was born June 12, 1922, in Hartford City to John Z. and Nellie Armitage Williams. She married Robert F. Vandelene on Aug. 30, 1941, in Indianapolis. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Helen R. (Larry) Reff, of Fairmount; and a grandson, Charles R. (Shana) Reff, of Fairmount.
Calling is Friday, July 19, 2013, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Heritage Pointe Applegate Chapel, 801 Huntington Ave., Warren. A service will immediately follow at the chapel, with Rev. Ed Clark officiating. Interment will follow in the Gardens of Memory in Muncie.
