Ada Virginia Matchett, 88, of Warren, IN, died Monday, Aug. 5, 2013, at 4:05 p.m. at Heritage Pointe, in Warren.
Mrs. Matchett owned and operated the Country Manor, a special order bakery and catering service, for 25 years. She graduated from Fairmount High School in 1943 and attended Butler University.
She was a member of the East 91st Street Christian Church, in Indianapolis. She was a member and past matron of the Eastern Star and a member of the Rural Friendship Home Economics Club, International Egg Art Guild and Florida Southwest Eggers.
She was born Sept. 30, 1924, in Harlan, KY, to Ralph and Grace Grable Quarry. She married Keith Matchett on Aug. 31, 1947, and he preceded her in death in 2007.
Survivors include a daughter, Rachel (Thomas) Hunter, of Indianapolis; a son, Ralph (Rose) Matchett, of Huntington; a sister, Mary Mitchell, of LaFontaine; four grandchildren, Julie (Joe) Nugent, of Columbus; Bradley (Amy) Matchett, of Columbia City; Adam (Cassidy) Hunter, of Indianapolis; and Tracy Matchett, of Portland, OR; and four great-grandchildren.
Calling is Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a service following at 1 p.m., at Glancy-H. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 203 N. Matilda St., Warren. Rev. Charles Dye Jr. will officiate. Interment will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Huntington County.
