This season of Huntington County Schools Special Olympics bowling begins on Saturday, Aug. 24, at Rainbow Lanes, in Huntington, at 3 p.m.
To be eligible to compete in Huntington County Schools Special Olympics, individuals must be between the ages of 8 and 21 years old and have been identified as having an intellectual disability.
Parents are encouraged to attend the first practice to complete necessary paperwork. Families and friends are also encouraged to attend practices to cheer on the athletes.
Practices continue through August, September and October with the regional tournament in Fort Wayne in November. Athletes must bowl a total of 12 practice games to qualify for the tournament.
Adults over 21 years old who are interested in Special Olympics bowling should contact Carol Austin at 356-0500. Adults bowl on Fridays at Rainbow Lanes at 3:15 p.m., beginning Friday, Sept. 13.
