The Huntington North High School boys' varsity tennis team got swept by host Warsaw, 0-5, on Wednesday, Aug. 21.
In a match that had originally been scheduled for Aug. 14, Andrew Smith and Nick May at second doubles delivered Huntington North's strongest performance of the day. The duo went down 3-6 in their first set to Nikos Schltt and Christopher Herenduen, but battled back in the next, winning 7-6 (7-3). The duo, however, fell short in the third set, 5-7.
At first doubles, Matt Sieberns and Graham Sereno lost to Nic Jansan and Will Petro 2-6, 2-6.
The Tigers spared no time in finishing off the Vikings, 0-2, in singles play. At first singles, Tommy Bolinger lost to Kyle Wettschuack 0-6, 0-6. No. 2 singles player Wyatt Nave suffered a 1-6, 1-6 setback to Sam Rice, while Cameron Buzzard fell 0-6, 3-6 in the third singles match to Caleb Ray.
The Vikings' junior varsity squad lost 2-8, with Nathan Lundy claiming an 8-5 decision over Andrew Gauger and a 6-4 win over Tim Rata.
