The Huntington University women's soccer team got its first win of the season with a goal in overtime against host Bluffton University on Saturday, Aug. 31, winning 3-2.
The Foresters, 1-2, took the lead 12:13 into the game on a goal by senior Jessica Krause, who was assisted by sophomore Becca Grimes. Krause scored again at the 59:45 mark in the second half on a penalty kick, but Bluffton got two goals of its own in the period and regulation ended in a 2-2 tie.
Overtime didn't last long, however, as junior Karina Maldonado found the back of the net just a minute into the period, off an assist by junior Kaitlyn Dreman, to give Huntington the win.
Junior Mary Whybrew and senior Caitlin Adams split duties in goal for the Foresters, with Whybrew recording two saves.
