The Huntington North High School boys' varsity soccer team couldn't be stopped on offense and trounced visiting Columbia City, 14-0, on Saturday, Sept. 7.
Senior Sacha Thirion scored four goals for the Vikings, 2-4-1, and senior Tyler Henline and sophomore Aaron Webb each added three.
Huntington North led 5-0 after the first half and poured on nine more goals in the second.
Senior Zach Baldridge found the back of the net twice and senior Brad Young and sophomore Alex Hosler supplied one apiece to round out the Vikings' scoring spree.
Henline and Webb both had three assists while senior Tristan Smeltzer and sophomores Trey Sorg and Nathan Park each contributed one.
Senior Chad Wingo pick up the win for Huntington North in goal, making one save. Wingo was relieved by junior Johannes Bingham, who recorded five stops.
Thirion started things off for HNHS when he converted a Webb pass for all the goals the Vikings would need. Henline then used a Smeltzer assist for a 2-0 advantage, and the senior then assisted on Thirion's second goal for a 3-0 lead. Thirion then got his hat trick before Henline fed Webb for the fifth goal of the first half.
Thirion started off the second half scoring with his fourth goal before Webb scored unassisted for a 7-0 lead. Hosler got on the goal train off a Sorg pass, then Henline scored two in a row, the second courtesy of Webb's assist. Baldridge and Young scored, the latter off Park's assist, to bring the margin to 12-0, and Webb got his hat off a Henline pass. Baldridge's second off a Webb pass wrapped things up.
The Viking junior varsity lost 1-0 to fall to 1-4-2 on the season.
