The Huntington University women's tennis team swept doubles and then notched wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots in singles action to hang on for a slim 5-4 win at Bethel College on Friday, Sept. 6.
Sophomore Cassie Kasicki got the first singles win, 6-2, 1-0, over Molly O'Grady, who retired. Celine Rongos, a freshman, picked up the win at second singles, 6-2, 6-7, 6-4, against Bethany Blodgett.
The No. 1 doubles duo of Kasicki and Morgan Bemisderfer topped Molly O'Grady and Blodgett, 8-2; Katie Johnson and Celine Rongos at second doubles, defeated Stephani Sterrett and Melissa Ramer, 8-4; and Ciara Smith and Stacie Cressman beat Samantha Lucas and Kelsey Sticher, 8-5, in the third doubles match to round out Huntington's wins.
The Foresters even their record at 2-2 and improve to 2-1 in the Crossroads League.
