Cam Dewitt's 11th place finish led the Huntington North High School boys' varsity cross country team to a fifth place finish among 16 teams on Tuesday, Oct. 1, at the Logansport Invitational.
Dewitt crossed the finish line in 17:28.58 to lead Huntington North to 145 points.
Christian Jones was second man for HNHS, placing 29th in 18:14.53. Dylan Valenti took 32nd in 18:17.52, Dustin Campbell was 34th in 18:22.92 and Kyler McVoy was 39th in 18:34.21.
Aaron Ebert placed 46th in 18:46.84 and Garret Smith was 53rd in 19:02.56 to round out the Vikings' top seven.
Kokomo won the meet with 78 points, followed by Twin Lakes in second with 96, Hamilton Heights in third with 97 and Winamac in fourth with 118.
Also competing for HNHS, Collin Wesco placed 65th overall in 19:21.56, Logan Worsham was 76th overall in 19:48.60 and Matt Hunt was 79th in 19:52.01.
Jeremy Breedlove of Kokomo was the individual champion with a time of 16:21.47, good for a 13-second win over runner-up Nate Gonzalez of Tipton.
