Lena I. Coble, 86, of Wabash, IN, and having family members in Roanoke, IN, died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at 2:05 a.m. at her home.
Mrs. Coble had worked as a secretary for the Wabash County Drainage Department. She had also worked at Wabash Magnetics and General Tire. She attended New Life Baptist Church and was a former member of the Lebanon United Methodist Church.
She was born Dec. 22, 1926, in Laketon to Henry and Mable Sikafus Reiken. She married Carroll Coble on Oct. 5, 1942, in Laketon. He preceded her in death on April 2, 2009.
Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn (Roger) Grandstaff, of Fairfield, PA, and Kathy Barker-Rowe, of Wabash; two sons, Harvey (Brenda) Coble and David (Colleen) Coble, both of Wabash; a brother, James (Jacksie) Reiken, of Mentone; five sisters, Joan Meredith, of Pierceton; Rose Marie Bell, of Warsaw; Ruth Ann Calhoun, of North Manchester; Carol Jean Coleman, of Peoria, IL; and Suzie (Walter) Brown, of Roanoke; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Calling is Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash. A service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Scott Johnston officiating. Burial will be at Falls Cemetery, in Wabash.
