The Huntington University women's bowling team captured sixth place out of 19 teams at the Norse Collegiate Classic at Super Bowl Erlanger in Erlanger, KY, on Saturday, Feb. 8.
Emily O'Leary led the Foresters through five regular games and 12 Baker games on an Autobahn lane pattern, posting a five-game average of 198.4 with a high game of 223 to finish seventh out of 131 bowlers and miss All-Tournament honors by just a few pins.
Shelby New also had a strong outing, registering a 181.4 average to finish 26th overall.
The other three Foresters were all within a six-pin average of each other. Brook Ewing, 34th, turned in a 177.4 average, Casandra Griffith, 39th, recorded a 174.4 average and Ayla Yeiter, 48th, topped out with a 171.8 average.
Pikeville took the title with 7,516 total points, followed by Ursuline's 7,007, Bowling Green's 6,968, Adrian's 6,873, Emmanuel's 6,768, Huntington's 6,785, Martin Methodist's 6,726, Bellarmine's 6,704, Morehead State's 6,665 and Cumberlands' 6,536.
