The Crestview Middle School girls' eighth grade basketball team went 1-1 at the Lakeview Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 15.
The Cougars got edged by Northridge in their first game, 27-26.
Rileigh Johnson paced Crestview with 12 points. Megan Gilpin added six.
In the second game, Crestview won in a rout over Northside, 31-6. Karmen Koch led a balanced offensive attack, tossing in seven points, while Johnson, Hollyn Anderson and Skylar Houser each netted four to propel the Cougars to 7-2.
The seventh grade team also managed a split on the day, opening the invitational with a 27-18 loss to Northridge.
Peyton Dorsett and Madi Robrock produced five points apiece, with Robrock corralling as many rebounds. Faith Leist pulled down a team-high seven boards.
Lydia Riggers cracked double figures in the second game to lead Crestview over Northside, 40-10.
Riggers dropped in 15 points, Dorsett supplied eight, Robrock chipped in six and Leist contributed five and tied Jessy Henline for high rebounding honors with seven.
The Cougars improved to 3-6.
