The Huntington University men's track and field team earned runner-up honors at the Fred Wilt Memorial Invitational hosted by Anderson University on Saturday, March 1.
Jake Nash continued his strong season in high jump, bringing home a top finish with his leap of 2.02 meters. He also claimed third in triple jump with a distance of 13.34 meters to earn 16 points for his team.
Austin Presnell was the Foresters' other top finisher. He won the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9:59.02.
Brian Menzie shaved off nearly three seconds from his personal record in the mile where he crossed the line third in 4:25.07 to bump up a spot to sixth in the Huntington record books.
Daniel DeBoni scored points in the 60-meter dash by clocking in at :7.14 and in the 200-meter dash in a personal record :23.07, finishing third and fifth, respectively.
Other point-getters for the Foresters included Tyler Herber in the 1,000-meter run, fourth in 2:42.78; Jacob Stone in pole vault, sixth with 3.95 meters; Brooks Gerke in triple jump, fourth with 12.42 meters; and Logan Knox in weight throw, fifth with 13.96 meters.
Huntington also tallied 16 points in the relays by finishing second in both the 800 meters and the 1,600 meters.
Wabash finished first with 101 points, followed by the Foresters' 71, Anderson's 66, Spalding's 44, DePauw's 41, Franklin's 37, Centre's 32, Webster's 27, Cedarville's 10.5, Defiance's 18, Manchester's 17, Mount St. Joseph's 14, Hanover's 11.5, Calumet St. Joseph's 9, Saint Francis' 8, Kentucky Wesleyan's 6, Rose Hulman's 4, Union's 2 and Georgetown's 1.
