Eugene W. Cauffman, 92, of Claypool, IN, died Monday, March 3, 2014, at 3:35 p.m. at Miller's Merry Manor, in Warsaw.
Mr. Cauffman graduated from Claypool High School. He was a farmer and served as a foster parent for 10 years. He also worked for Pulley-Kellam Co., in Huntington, and as a patent inventor for farm equipment. In 1984, he received a patent for an outdoor wood furnace. He was a member of Claypool United Methodist Church.
He was born April 20 1921, in Claypool to Raymond C. and Audrey D. Decker Cauffman. He married Marjorie E. Weaver on Oct. 4, 1941, in Kosciusko County. She preceded him in death on Dec. 15, 2012.
Survivors include three daughters, Joyce (Robert) Whittlesey, of Guthrie, KY; Sharon Engelschjon, of Warsaw; and Peggy (John) Shively, of Claypool; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Calling is Thursday, March 6, 2014, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, in Warsaw. A service will be held on Friday, March 7, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Claypool United Methodist Church, with Rev. Mike Settles officiating. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, Claypool.
